The Best Damn Poll In The Land's 2009 FINAL POLL
We have our National Champion. The Alabama Crimson Tide won the BCS title and TBDPITL's 2009 National Championship. The rest of the bowl season was quite entertaining, and the drama off the field continues to swirl as we get close to National Signing Day. You can join us here in a few weeks to see our voters Pre Spring Top 25. Thanks to all the voters that were dedicated to the poll. 2009 was a fantastic season and 2010 is shaping up to be one for the ages.

Alabama (14-0)
- Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are BCS National Champions and TBDPITL National Champions. Congratulations on the perfect season. Tide fans, you should be proud...and very happy as this team is poised to make a run in 2010 as well.

What could have been? Did Alabama dodge a bullet when Colt went down. No one can be sure, but the Longhorns had an incredible season and never quit. Congratulations Longhorns. Does Gilbert look ready for 2010?

Boise State (14-0)
- Until the WAC improves, Boise State has hit its ceiling. # in TBDPITL and 2 first place votes is pretty good. We've taken notice. Now improve your schedule. Boise State could have another great season as they return pretty much the entire team.

Florida (13-1)
- The Class of 06 closed thing out in style, disemboweling the formerly undefeated Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl. 210 holds a ton of questions as the John Brantley Era begins. Is the record setting 2010 recruiting class just a sign of good things to keep coming from Florida?

Ohio State (11-2)
- The Buckeyes got the BCS monkey off their back with a huge Rose Bowl victory over the Oregon Ducks. With a stingy defense and Mr. Pryor one year better, Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes are set to make a run at the crystal in 2010.

Points

TCU (12-1)
- The Horned Frogs fell short of their bid for the perfect season in the Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State. TCU is looking good for a 2010 run at the MWC...and who knows from there?

Iowa (11-2)
- Was the Orange Bowl the coming out party for Iowa? They were impressive in their victory over Georgia Tech, and they finish up at the #7 spot. Are they going to give Ohio State a run for the Roses in 2010?

Cinsinnati (12-1)
- Why did the Bearcats fail in their bid for the first every undefeated season? Could it be that they ran into a focused Gator team? Or that their defense was exposed as a liability? Maybe it was because Brian Kelly left them in the lurch? 2010 presents even more questions for the Bearcats.

Penn State (11-2)
- The Nittany Lions won in dramatic fashion under horrible and quite shameful field conditions and knocked off LSU. Now that Bowden has retired, can we expect the announcement from Joe Paterno soon? We don't think it will be in 2010, but there will be some holes to fill.

Virginia Tech (10-3)
- The stomping of Tennessee in the Chick-Fil-a Bowl maybe a be a sign of things to come for the Hokies. They get Darren Evans back to go along with Ryan Williams and David Wilson...oh..and that Tyrod Taylor guy.

Oregon (10-3)
- The Ducks lost to the Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl. But the defending PAC 10 Champions should return strong in 2010. The offense is just too good not to.

Points

BYU (11-2)
- Expectations were high, and though BYU did not win a MWC title under Max Hall, it was a successful year. A 2nd place finish and a spanking of Oregon State have the Cougars ready for 2010.

Georgia Tech (11-3)-
ACC Champions found it rough sledding against Iowa in the Orange Bowl. Now with the departure of some key Juniors (and the addition of Al Groh as DC) it looks like 2010 will be a rebuilding year rather than a reloading year.

Nebraska (10-4)
- The Huskers shucked Arizona, shut them out matter of factly, and are looking good in 2010. What does Bo Know? How about this: Nebraska could be the favorite to win the Big 12 in 2010.

Pittsburgh (10-3)
- Dave Wannestadt finally finishes a season off with a decent bowl performance. Too bad they stumbled through the last few games of the season. Pittsburgh looks to be the Early favorite in the Big East for 2010.

Wisconsin (10-3)
- Can the Badgers build on the 2009 campaign? They were impressive at times, especially in the Champs Sports Bowl. But the Badgers need to win a Big 10 title to be taken seriously on a National scale.

Points

Utah (10-3)
- Kyle Whittingham has exceeded expectations since Urban Meyer left Utah for Gainesville. They continued their current bowl success by beating Cal. Are the Utes ready for a run in 2010?

Points

LSU (9-4)
- The offense was pathetic most of the year, but the defense was very solid and looks to only get better in 2010. The loss to Penn State with embarrassing field conditions for the Capital One Bowl ended another frustrating for the Tigers.

Points

Ole Miss (9-4)
- Ole Miss won it's 2nd straight Cotton Bowl, and the victory helped ease some of the pain of a season of what SHOULD have been. With Snead going to the NFL, what will we be seeing from Houston Nutt and the Rebels in 2010?

Miami,FL (9-4)
- The "Swagger" is not truly back at The "U", but they are improving. If Harris could stop making poor decisions and turning the ball over, the Hurricanes could be a contender in the ACC in 2010.

Southern California (9-4)
- Tough year, Pete's gone, Lane is back. Not to mention an NCAA investigation hanging over them. They finished 2009 with a bowl win, but what will 2010 have in store for the Trojans?

Texas Tech
(9-4)-
Mike Leach is gone, Tommy Tubberville is here. The Red Raiders rallied for a bowl win over Michigan State, but the battle with Leach isn't over. Can the River Boat Gambler take the program to the next step and help Texas Tech put all the ugliness behind them in 2010?

Points

Clemson (9-5)
- An up and down season provided us with one of the most electrifying players ever to play the game. C.J. Spiller was a joy to watch, and it looks like Dabo has his finger on the program. 2010 should be another exciting season for the Tigers.

Navy (10-4)
- The Midshipmen finish ranked in the top 25. They deserve it. The program seems solid and should make another bowl run in 2010.

Central Michigan (12-2)
- The Chippewas won probably the most thrilling game of the 2009 Bowl season against Troy. CMU had a fantastic year, but they bid farewell to super QB Dan LeFevour. Can the Chippewas contend for the MAC in 2010 without him?
