Week 13 Defensive Player of the Week
The Week 13 Defensive Player of the Week as chosen by the voters of The Best Damn Poll in the Land is USC LB Malcolm Smith.
Smith played a whale of a game against rival UCLA and scored the only
touchdown for the Trojans in the first half when he returned an
interception 62 yards for a score. In addition to the touchdown Smith
totaled 15 tackles as well as 1.5 tackles for loss. A fantastic
performance when the Trojans really needed one.
The Trojans head into the final week of the regular season with some
momentum on the defensive side of the ball. They will need to play
very well on defense this weekend as the Trojans host the Arizona
Wildcats and their 415 yard per game offense and a large part of their
success will undoubtedly hinge on the play of Malcolm Smith.
Congratulations to Malcolm Smith for being named the Defensive Player
of the Week for Week 13. All the best to Malcolm in the future.
