College Football Week 13
: OSUBob's Turkey Day Extravaganza
Before getting to the bets I just want to mention obviously this is a great time of the year to be with family and amidst economic turmoil, a war, etc, we still have a lot to be thankful for. I would like to wish all of you here best wishes on your Thanksgiving holiday and hope it is safe and enjoyable.
Now in terms of gambling I have a lot of be thankful for over the past few weeks as I have been on a serious run that only professional handicappers could dream of... Brandon Lang eat your heart out ha. Another week of CFB and only one more after this before bowl season, which is my favorite time of the year for gambling. Last weeks wins were Kansas St, Boise St, Penn St, whoever played EMU (I forget ha), and Purdue, with the loan loss being with Rutgers, which happened to be a big bet but so be it. The only NFL bet I made was the under in the Monday night game and that covered as well. SO without further ado, my picks for this week...
Illinois+21.5 @ Cincy:
If you have been paying attention in other threads I have been saying this for a few weeks now, but I seriously think Illinois pulls the upset and ruins the Bearcats chances at all of appearing the in the BCS NC game (wasn't going to happen anyway). Cincy showed some issues being able to contain the mobility of WV's qb Brown and I think Illinois, although not well coached a lot of times, puts it together for one game and pulls this incredible upset. I will take the points however, but I like Illinois to win straight up in this game.
Illini 31 Bearcats 27
Alabama -10 @ Auburn:
Rivalry game, smivalry game... the Iron Bowl is an Irn Lock this week as Bama looks to gear up for the SEC title game and a chance at BCS glory. Auburn just hasn't been very impressive over the second half of the season and Bama's D is as good as it gets in the nation. Aubrun will struggle mightily offensively and I am not sure they will even muster 10 points on offense. I think the emotion of the game keeps it close in the 1st half but Bama behind the legs of Ingram vying for a heisman trophy roll in the second half.
Bama 34 Auburn 13
Tulsa -16.5 vs Memphis:
Memphis is miserablem Tulsa will score 50 plus, a laugher, nothing else needed to say.
Tulsa 54 Memphis 23
Boise St -14 vs Nevada:
The game is being played in Boise on the smurf turf, it will be cold, and Nevada has benefited from a very very easy schedule over the past 6-7 weeks
although beating the snot out of Fresno St was reasonably impressive. Nonetheless Boise is vying for an at large BCS berth and will need a convincing win versus them to be strongly considered over the likes of Iowa, Penn St, Okie St, etc... Boise St rolls in this game.
Broncos 41 Nevada 20
Tennessee-3 @ Kentucky:
Now Tenn has been one of the most up and down teams of the season but I know one thing, Memphis doesn't have Dexter McCluster and Tenn's D is going to stifle Kentucky's offensive attack all game.
Vols 24 Kentucky 13
SO there it is boys, again have a great holiday, and I will be on here tomorrow to discuss but after that will be OOO from Wednesday through Sunday evening, so have a good holiday and best wishes to all of your friends and family this holiday season!

Good evening folks. I would like to take this time to thank Bob for the holiday wishes and to offer some of my own. I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. There is so much to be thankful for. In fact, too much to go into here. But to name a few, I am thankful for my family and my friends and getting to know you fine folks even if it's only on a message board. I am thankful that everyday I wake up is another day that I am truly blessed. Well, enough about me. I went 2-2 again on posted picks, 2-3 if you count my NFL play. I had another rough week with the games that I played. Last Saturday I was looking pretty good with my straight plays and my 3 team parlay, and then the wheels came off. I would like to thank the Tampa Bay Bucs for destroying my 3 and 4 team parlays on Sunday, I should have known better. Onto this weeks plays, there isn't a whole lot that I like with this being rivalry week, but I'll give it a shot anyway. So here it goes.
West Virginia pk vs Pitt-
Pitt has been playing well, but I think they are a little overrated. I like Jarret Brown to cause some problems for the Pitt D. Remember a couple years ago when Pitt ruined WVU's season? Well, I think that WVU returns the favor and knocks the Panthers off.
WVU 27-20
Rutgers -3 at Louisville-
Rutgers stuck it up my ass last week with a pitiful performance at Syracuse. I don't think they play that bad this week and Louisville is absolutely horrible. Look for the Scarlet Knights to redeem themselves and hammer the Cardinal.
Rutgers 34-7
Texas A&M +21 vs Texas-
I loves me a home doggie. On paper, Texas should win this game by 40. But, they don't play the games on paper. Look for A&M to keep this close. Texas wins, just not by 21.
Texas 31-21
Oklahoma St +9.5 at Oklahoma-
Zac Robinson is gonna play and Oklahoma just isn't that impressive this year. Okie State is coming off of a win where the backup QB played and Oklahoma is coming off of a thrashing at the hands of Texas Tech. I think the Sooners are a dejected team and I like Okie State to win this game outright.
Okie State 31-20
Washington -24.5 vs Washington St-
The Huskies are playing alot better with Locker under center this season. Washington State has been dreadful. Washington will be looking to avenge last years defeat and with Locker playing QB, combined with how bad Washington State sucks, the Huskies should win this easily.
Washington 45-10
There they are. Can't say that I love my selections, but I will play them anyway. Let me know what you guys think.

Happy Turkey Day fellas!!!! Well, last week was good, hell great. Hit a couple of parlays and went 3-1 winning Florida, TCU, and Central Michigan. Only loss, like the other guys, FUCKING RUTGERS!!!!!! Oh well, took a couple late teasers involving Oregon and Texas and made out. Sunday I played 2 NFL games in NE and Indy and parlayed them together. Last night I took Western Michigan, fuckers, and lost it. On to this wonderful football looong weekend!!!
Texas -21 @ Texas A&M:
Texas is too much. Despite the Aggies looking decent last week, they still suck. Rivalry - whatever - the Horns roll. McCoy wants a shot at a NC and Mac Brown wants it for him. They will run the score up for style points. Brown has always done whatever he could for his QBs, and this one is no different. Not to mention, I think Shipley takes a punt or KO to the house.
Central Michigan -13 vs. Northern Illinios:
Central Michigan at home with "Dandy" Dan LeFevour. CMU will score often. 2 Tds is not that many.
Okie State +9.5 @ Oklahoma:
OU has loss too much on the offensive side of the ball. I don't think that they will be able to keep pace scoring with the Pokes. I think the Pokes win outright.
TCU -43 vs. New Mexico:
Man this is alot of points, but I think they cover. They are too good and really need to make style points to secure a BcS Bowl birth.
Texas Tech -21 vs. Baylor:
Baylor is terrible. Tech will light up Baylor. They win this by 30!!
There they are. I like the Boise pick as I think they too need style points. I didn't notice the Bama-Auburn game, but it looks good as well. I may try my luck at a 4-5 team parlay taking Tech, CMU, Bama, Boise, and maybe Okie St.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. If you are traveling, like me, have a safe trip.
Trey
...it has been a long season for our Sooner brother..
Bry, I hate to say it bro, but those are some dangerous picks.
My picks:
OU -9.5 over OSU
- OU has lost 2 games at home since 1999. Last game of a disappointing season for OU. OSU defense is not good, which is good for a struggling offense. Colorado was able to score 28 points against this poor defense. OU will have offensive success and the defense will play well. Some bad field position will give OSU some points though. OU 31 - OSU 20
Nevada +13.5 v Boise
- Nevada has too many weapons on offense to be stopped. Boise will score (I'm also taking the overs in this one too BTW) and will probably win, but this one could come down to who has the ball last. Boise 56 - Nevada 48
Illinois +20.5 v Cinn
- Illinois has been playing tough the last few weeks. 20.5 is just too much to cover. Bad position for Cincy in this one playing an OOC "pud" in between the big game for the (basically) conference title next week and a big win against WVU, look for a down week from Cincy. Cincy 27 - Illini 24
Tennessee - 2.5 v Kentucky
- This line scares me because it seems too easy. Tennessee's defense will be the story here. I think there could be at least 2 defensive TD's. Tennessee 31 - UK 13
I also think Texs rolls, but I'll probably stay away from the game anyways. Many tough lines considering it's rivalry week and most of the dogs are at home. It makes for tough sleddin.
