Ohio State, Kansas, Duke, & Pitt #1 Seeds

Ohio State, Kansas, Duke & Pitt No. 1 Seeds

Get ready for picks, predictions and all the March Madness trends you can handle: the bracket has been set for the NCAA Tournament.

It’s going to be a crazy week of bracket-filling as everyone will be using their pencils and erasers to make, then change their picks.

At the top of the food chain in each bracket will be the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Duke Blue Devils, the Kansas Jayhawks and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Buckeyes, who were the No. 1 team in the nation for much of the season and won the Big Ten title with a 71-60 and will now be the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament. In previous years, they had an advantage as they would face the team that wins the play-in game, but nowadays the field has been expanded to 68 and there are now four play-in games.

There weren’t any big surprises among the No. 1 seeds as the Blue Devils, who won the ACC Championship on Sunday, also earned a No. 1 spot. The Big 12 champions, the Jayhawks, also took a No. 1 seed. The Panthers were the No. 3 team in the country in the latest rating and finished with a record of 27-4 but they lost in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament yet also claimed a No. 1 seed.

The Buckeyes will face the winner of 16th seeds Texas-San Antonio and Alabama State, Duke will face No. 16 Hampton, Kansas will face Boston University, and Pitt will face winner of 16th-seeded UNC-Ashville and Arkansas-Little Rock and Butler.

Clearly, Butler, who was the runner-up for the title last year, is not as strong as they barely have a pulse playing in the play-in game.

The first round of action gets underway on Tuesday, so get your brackets ready.
