The REAL "U" May Be Back
http://www.allcanes.com/blog/uploaded_images/canestakefield-746761.jpg  Before you Canes fans start throwing out the word swagger or holding up a gang-like hand sign that looks vaguely like a feminine reproductive organ, this is not going to pertain to anything indicating that Miami's National prowess has returned. Quite the contrary, this news could send Miami reeling back to the depths of probation, something they should be used to.

  Nevin Shapiro.

Just a scant few months ago, the fine University of Miami, FL referred to Nevin Shapiro as an "ardent, devoted, and intense supporter" of the university. They bestowed the honor of naming a student lounge after him. Now Miami can't get far enough away from him, and things are abhttp://www.bestsportsphotos.com/images/t_25959_06.jpgout to become even worse for the Canes.
Shapiro was busted by the feds, and now, facing a lengthy prison sentence for conducting a Ponzi scheme, Shapiro has decided to write a tell all book titled "The REAL U: 2001 to 2010: Inside the Eye of the Hurricane". In this can't miss literary work, Shapiro states that there are many major NCAA violations committed by the Hurricanes, violations that even Donna Shalala herself knew and did nothing about them.
Shapiro's claims he "wants to make the average fan aware of what really exists under that uniform. They might be great players, but they http://lh6.ggpht.com/_516Xj-QV6PU/SOmMojNuyiI/AAAAAAAABGA/G66E3kC943I/DSC05915.JPGare not good people." He's speaking of no less than 100 Canes players over the last 10 years. Names like Jon Beason, Devin Hester, Antrel Rolle, Randy Phillips, Robert Marv, Kyle Wright, and quite a few others have been implicated for receiving improper benefits ranging from cash to cars, use of hotel suites for weekend parties, tutors to write papers for failing players, and even elective cosmetic dental surgery, tattoos, and jewelry.
NCAA spokesperson stated "When all the information has been received indicating intentional violations and deemed reliable, the enforcement staff will review it in its entirety in order to determine the credibility of the accusations. It will be determined how they (Miami) knew about the violations, and their (Shapiro's) motivation behind them. Just because the accuser is facing jail time on an unrelated criminal case does not dismiss the plausibility of these violations happening."
http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/7/2010/07/340x_2lc.jpg  Some damning evidence may be comments by current and former Canes players referring Shapiro to as "Little Luke", relating his behavior to one Luther Campbell of Luke Skywalker and The 2 Live Crew, who years ago gave cash to Canes players every time they made a huge hit or a big play.
To make matter worse, Miami is currently under investigation for recruiting violations regarding illegal texts in football, women's track and field, and baseball.
Neither Donna Shalala, Kirby Hocutt, nor any Miami official will comment on these current accusations.
