The Chargers traded Antonio Cromartie to the New York Jets for a conditional 2011 draft pick, reported to be as high as the 2nd round pick. With Cromartie in New York, that made Lito Sheppard expendable, and the Jets subsequently released him.
The Carolina Panthers released Jake Delhomme after his implosion in the 2008 playoffs and his worst season as a pro in 2009. That means Matt Moore is at the helm for the Panthers.
The Cincinnati Bengals released Laverneus Coles after only one season. That almost insures that the Bengals will be looking to add a wide receiver via Free Agency or the draft. Brandon Marshall has been a named kicked around.
Speaking of Brandon Marshall, another bit of speculation has him landing in Houston. With Brandon on one side and Andre Johnson on the other, that becomes a very potent offense for the Texans.
The Arizona Cardinals released Antrel Rolle in an obvious cost cutting measure. This may be because they are interested in a big name replacement at QB for Kurt Warner...because one cannot believe they think Matt Leinart is ready for the job.
Maybe the hottest name right now is Julius Peppers. As Free Agency began at Midnight, Peppers has been rumored to be in Washington at the time of this writing getting ready to sign with the Redskins. Other reports have him signing with the Chicago Bears.
Also, quite a few sources are reporting that Randy Moss wants to get out of New England. Where he'll end up is anyone's guess.
One thing is for sure, in this uncapped season, we should see a lot of movement.
