NFL: Brady will bring Giants, fans crashing down to Earth
Brady will bring Giants, fans crashing down to Earth

I have heard everything now. I was driving home from the store, making my light night Diet Pepsi run and almost became another traffic statistic on Florida's roadways. However, it wasn't another driver or my ineptitude as a vehicle operator. It was my radio, rather, it was what came out of it that almost caused me to swerve off the road, over the curb, and miss a hydrant that Billy Cundiff would have nailed for sure.

It was the overnight show (station and show withheld intentionally) and they were talking about the Super Bowl. That's when I heard it. A caller stated the following:

"The best QB on the field next Sunday will be wearing a Giants jersey."

After I corrected my vehicle and pulled safely into my driveway, I sat in awe as caller after caller, Giant fan after Giant fan, basically dismissing any notion that the New England Patriots actually stand a chance in Indianapolis next Sunday in Super Bowl XLVI. Now, New Yorkers in general are loud, obnoxious, and run their mouths while pounding their chests about how great their team is...and that is just their behavior during preseason. It gets worse as the season wears on, and intensifies when the playoffs roll around.

Giants fans have reached a fevered pitch of immeasurable buffoonery over the last two weeks, culminating in what spewed forth from my radio. I almost feel embarrassed for Giants fans.

Almost.

I will give Eli Manning this: 2011 he proved he was one of the top 10 QB's in the NFL right now. He has become an assassin on 3rd and long and has been clutch in the 4th quarter. But as far as Eli being better than Tom Brady?

Not even close. But I should not have to sit here and list page after page of statistics to convince you rational NFL fans that Tom Brady is just that much better than Eli. Brady will make my case for me in one week at Lucas Oil Field...convincingly.

This may not be the best Patriot team that has ever made the Super Bowl, but this will be Brady's crowning moment and a win will etch his name into the foundation of NFL greatness. If there is one thing more dangerous than Tom Brady...it is Tom Brady with something to prove.

The Denver Broncos felt the sting of Brady's determination, where several years of playoff failure and frustration erupted for 5 first half touchdowns and brought the 2011 edition of Tebow-mania to an end. Now, he's coming off a game in which he played way under his capabilities and yet his defense and Billy Cundiff bailed him out. Comments like the one from the delusional Giants fan are making it to Brady's ear. NFL pundits are clamoring for a Giants victory and respect to Tom and the Patriots are as elusive as Bill Belichick is to a suit and tie.

Oh, and there's the little issue of Super Bowl XLII.

Tom Brady will be properly motivated when he takes the field against the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, and that is going to make for a long afternoon for Eli and the Giants. Eli may be a student of the game, but Tom is the professor.

Agreed. The Giants fans and players are talking way too much while the Patriots just get ready and take it all in. The Pats should be plenty motivated to dismantle a 9-7 team and quietly go about exacting vengeance from 4 years ago. Pats 31-13.
