Jerry Sklandany Will Not Be Reatained

UCF Defensive Coordinator John Skladany, Linebacker Coach Al Seamonson, and Director of Player Personnel Albert Boon were told Saturday evening that this was their last game at UCF. All three were working on one year contracts, so UCF really loses nothing financially.

The Knights had regressed defensively for the last two seasons, in spite of being ranked in the top 10 in total defense through the first 6 weeks of the season. However, it was evident as the season progressed that those numbers were inflated against less than questionable competition.

No immediate candidates have officially been named, but one would think that UCF would stay away from the "coach in waiting" and their personality would certainly have to mesh with O'Leary's.

Unofficially, Ron Zook's name was thrown around on a talk show on 740am with UCF beat writer Illiana Limone for the Orlando Sentinel.
