For some reason I cannot locate the pot stirring smiley. . .
Its the name on the front of the jersey that matters most, not the one on the back.

They travel, to Denver, Minnesota, and several other locations.
Just not until AFTER they graduate.

BD,
I could make the smart-assed comment that Georgia doesn't even like to travel to..............(Wait for it!)...........................................Jacksonville, anymore!

After you've been to Starkville, Oxford, Baton Rouge, Athens, Lexington, Columbia, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Fayetteville would you travel anymore either? They probably think everytime they board a plane/bus, they are going to a bigger shithole than the last time...

They may not like to travel but they like long walks on the beach and candle-lit dinners.

When I was in high school (in the early 90's), I had a few friends that went to FSU for college, they thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.
Florida is the new FSU...they have convinced everyone that it is a great place to be for football. It has gotten so big that they are able to recruit all over the country with no promises of ever playing a game in that kids home state...or even close.
What they are selling was what FSU used to sell...National Titles. This year will be an interesting year for UF, because they are not expected to win a title, they didnt last year. I think that this will have to happen for a few years for Florida to not have this reputation of playing for a title, like ND, FSU and Miami now have.
Bottom line, if Florida doesnt have to travel for recruiting purposes, then they wont. I just dont watch their games unless they are in conference...besides the conference and potentially FSU, their games arent relevant.

And now that I think about it, I PERSONALLY hate to travel. The furthest I travel is across the bridge to the beach, up I-4 to Disney, or up I-75 to Gainesville.
I think I really

Well I thought the conclusion reached yesterday is that the Gators refuse to travel because they are afraid. Perhaps some in-depth counseling could help.

This fascination with travel just cracks my old ass up! What is travel? You get on a plane. You land in a city that isn't home. You stay in a hotel instead of your bed. You eat food not prepared by your training staff. You dress out in a locker-room that isn't you home facility. You play in front of a hostile crowd. WTF does it matter if it is Tennessee, Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee, or Texas? It ain't home.
So.....We travel. We even travel in December to Atlanta. Then we even travel in January to either Glendale or Nawlins. Shit! We travel.

by my count, Florida has played 69 non-conference, non-bowl games in the last 20 years, all but one of them within the cozy confines of the state of Florida..... on their one foray out of state, they lost at Syracuse in 1991...... tell us more about your travel schedule.....

life is a lot easier when you get to play all your non-conf games in your home state, Layla....
hell, even Washington would have been bowling once or twice in the last 5-6 years if they got to play at home all the time.....

Distance from home matters because your fanbase presence is inversely proportionate to the distance from home.

BigDawgs, you must have gotten up on the wrong side of bed this morning. How in the heck are you doing.? The Tigers are going to help the Dawgs out as we are coming out of Gainesville with a "W" this year. Everyone is under estimating the Tigers. I look forward to a banner season. Just a little bit of homer in me. Ha, ha.

Ha, ha.
Nah, I got up on the right side of the bed. It is a great day, except for the damn heat. I certainly hope you do that GTF. That would be great. But it will be tough for sure. I am looking forward to the season though. I too think we are going to be better than the skeptics on the hot seat think. ;-)

GTF,
You need to get your AD to convince Florida to play y'all in New Orleans every year. I am sure you can convince them that it is a neutral site. You know, just because you have a bus trip I am sure it would be a damn great tradition. They will be up for it I am sure. Hell, you can call it the Worlds Largest Bowl of Jumbalya. Now wouldn't that be cool.
