A three way freaking tie! We could not have seen that coming from the WAC! All eyes were on the the game in Reno friday night and no one gave Nevada a chance to actually win. I myself was actually wondering which team the Mighty Broncos would face in the Rose.
Auburn's come back win in Tuscaloosa and the Ducks squeaking out another win showed us that there was some chance that the #4 team, who was already predicted to jump #3 TCU, just might get a little closer to the Big game in Glendale AZ.. Just a little stumble by either team would have opened the door for Boise st to move closer to that #2 spot and that spot gets you a shot at glory. Auburn will meet So. Carolina in the SEC championship and the Ducks go to War against the Beavers this weekend.
None of this matters anymore, at least for the Bronco's... The Wolf pac feasted on the second quarter leftovers and Boise's inability to move the ball! We all know what came next. A chance to win it all and sole control of the WAC came down to a Kyle Brotzman Field goal.....
Hawaii has the Wac lead and a share of the WAC title with Nevada and Boise St. Having lost to Boise, but beating Nevada they statistically hold the WAC lead.

The three teams hold a three way tie and no clear winner will emerge now.
Death threats against Boise's kicker have gone rampant, arguments that Nevada cost the conference 13 million for not laying down to the conference leader and all the debate over Boise's title run have fallen silent.
An Oregon man, reportedly called a person in Boise with the same last name as Kyle brotzman and blamed them for a lost 250,000 bet! What a dumb ass! Athorities are investigating..
So what if conference shared money was lost.. Nevada came to play football and they came to win! Senior QB Colin

Kaepernick stated the last thing he wanted to do was beat the Broncos! His career has come up short of that goal until friday night. He would not have accomplished this yet again.... Boise st had a big lead going into half and it looked like they would handle the wolves...
Nevada pounded Boise's defense the whole second half and fought their way to a tie. A miracle throw by Heisman candidate Kellen Moore, left the Bronco's with a game winning chip shot with seconds left in regulation.
Kaepernicks dreams were about to be crushed once again and then the unthinkable happened!

Overtime!
The missed field goal gave Nevada new life and I felt my heart sink. You could just feel what was about to happen! Boise stalled on the next drive, again, and had to make another field goal try!
This game was not about money it was for pride and all the losses that the mighty Bronco's had dished out to Nevada.
Boise st. fell! The second missed attempt by brotzman sealed it. Nevada scored and did what no other team in the nation could do!
Did they end the great Boise st. debate? Did they lose millions of revenue for the conference? Did they start a war?
A few things are sure. The WAC will go without a BCS game. Colin Kaepernick is going out a Hero! And for that guy that lost 250k (Dumbass).. Anything can happen in college football!
The Western athletic conference is close to dying but...with the recent announcment of TCU moving to the Big East conference, the Mountain West, future home of Fresno st., Hawaii, Nevada, and Boise st. is not looking so appealing. These teams have lots to consider including a possible change of heart. Should they make the jump to the MWC or reconsider and stay put?
Maybe the two conferences should merge back together and reform the WAC superconference.

This had failed in the 90s when BYU and a few other ADs sat in an airport and conspired to defect, forming the Moutain West.
The national trend has been moving towards bigger conferences and this may just be what needs to happen to save both the WAC and MWC. All chances of an automatic bid in the BCS are slipping away as quality teams are jumping ship.
There are many questions to be answered and decisions have to be made! With the unlikely three way tie in the WAC, we are now left with more confusion.
There is no confusion for Nevada, they have arrived! The great "Non AQ debate" lives on and has now taken on a new face. More and more mid majors are throwing their hat in the ring and if you look across the polls you will find not just one or two BCS "busters" but Five teams in the top twenty five and guess what, 3 are from the WAC. Hawaii, Nevada, and Boise are all in the talk. Lets not forget TCU and Utah from the MWC. #3 TCU will now carry the torch for the Non AQS and will get a likely shot at Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, taking what, almost guaranteed, would have been Boise st's spot...
Was it too much turkey?

Did someone overlook Nevada? Will Boise St. be back or are the going to fall into obscurity?
One thing is sure when your on a title hunt! You gotta win the games first!
Congratulations are in order for a great Nevada team. You finally did it! You took down the Mighty Bronco's!
The AQ conferences Thank you!
