After letting out my frustration last week about the stupid polls, Im gonna bash the Vandal for a while cause it makes me feel better! Idaho, after a long needed rest from their tough schedule (sarcasm), meets La Tech this week and will probably win if they actually studied game film. The Tech Bulldogs took down my self proclaimed USU Headhunters of the WAC. La tech and USU have stretched their lead in losses to 4 and there is probably no stopping them now. There is only two that could stand in their way though... New Mexico st and San Jose st.
These two teams really know how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!
It will be hard to match their Strength of Schedule and should be ranked in the top ten! Oh they are!..but you have to actually win..They have both made our "Not so Top 10" here at TBDPITL! This is the place you can find the crud that dropped from the cream! Maybe...Just maybe, La Tech and Utah St could.., with very little work, aspire to such great "low"ness! ..............and I didn't forget I was bashing the Vandals.
Lets talk about Nevada! The Warriors host the Wolfpac and this could be a defining moment for several teams! It gets interesting here! Nevada is ranked at #18 this week in The Best Damn Poll in the Land, and looking to climb even higher! Hawaii lost a close one with USC early, and a tough one to Colorado, but still looking to go 5-2 with a win @ home!
Nevada could pull out a win on the road against a tough Warrior team and climb even higher in the polls! Both of these teams play Boise St. later who is holding onto the #3 ranking this week! Boise St would benefit more if Colin Kaepernick can lead his Wolfpack to another win and keep climbing in the polls. If Nevada loses,.. Hawaii could be the second toughest team in the WAC and they already hold a one game lead in conference play. Whew! Thats something to ponder...
Fresno St could make some noise in the second half of the season, but miserably, their chance at a Conference Title is over...There is just too much standing in the way! They have to play Nevada , Boise, Ida"hoes" Vandals, and a decent Illinois from the big ten. The Bulldogs of Fresno should be 6-2 when they first meet Nevada but it might be all down hill for them after that.
The first BCS rankings come out next week and everyone will be guessing where 2, (yes I said 2), WAC teams will land.
Nevada, a potential "Buster" and Boise St., who made their debut in the polls with the highest ranking in team history. The WAC is making a showing in its last year before a possible disolution of the conference. Will these two teams be able to hold on ? There is presently 5 Mid Majors in the top 25 of all the major polls,.... isn't that some kinda record? Well we will have to see where The BCS turns out but Boise St. has been rumored to be sitting in the #1 spot! Can you fraking believe it? I knew you would be just filled with Joy!
No matter how it turns out, Nevada and Boise are making a good showing for the WAC. These two teams will meet November 26th in the Wolves den! If one of these teams make it through the WAC gauntlet, (more sarcasm)..the winner will take the Conference and a possible BCS game! For Boise st, it is always a must win and they will need key losses from Ohio St and several others to make the NCG...The SOS just wont hold up for the Bronco's in the second half of the season and will start falling without help, especially if Nevada loses to Hawaii !
So, Grab your beers and favorite snacks
and get ready for another crazy finish in college football. I see a whole lot of surprises coming and it may just start with the new "BCS rankings" debut this year!
