Well what a crazy week in Knoxville it has been, UT fans are worried, scared and hurt....You can say "Well it's his dream job" or "It's a better job" thats fine because you are not a Volunteer.....To us there is no better job out there, UT football is as big as it gets around here for us, its more than just a hobby or a good time, Its a way of life dammit.....
Southern Cal might have better weather and brighter lights than East Tennessee, but you can bet your ass they dont have the level of passion for their Trojans as we do for our Vols, I would bet the farm on it...They would rather be at a Lakers game or a movie premier than a football game half the time, hell when USC sucked in the 90's you might have had a little more than 50'000 in their stadium, even though we didnt sell out much in 2008 we still had atleast 80'000 in Neyland and I was always one of them.....So go ahead and think USC is a better job if you want, they will have down years again and we will back, the big diff is our fans will still be there and theirs wont....They will go watch the Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers or even UCLA if they are good again, we will stand by our Vols because thats all we got and all we need.
I didnt have the best childhood becuase my mother was a drug addict, my escape from the real world were UT football and Pro wrestling, as I aged I grew out of wrestling, but not the Vols, they were always my mental escape, my paradise, my getaway from the crazy world around me, dont get me wrong I had great famliy, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, but they couldnt be there all the time.....The Vols could and they were.
For some football stops in January, in Knoxville and with me it doesnt, I follow recruting, Spring Practice, SEC Media day all the way up till Kick off the next year....When we say "We bleed Orange" we mean it! That is not a "Catch Phrase" or a "School slogan" it's the truth.
UT will survive this, we will always be UT, no matter who the coach, AD or QB is...We will move foward and survive becuase we have been through much worse and the most important thing is WE ARE TENNESSEE!!!!!!!!
GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great writeup man. I feel the same way about Bama that you feel about Tennessee. We went through horrible shit the early part of this decade with Dubose getting fired. Fran came in and promised he would lead us out of the turmoil but he bolted in the middle of the night and told his players via video teleconference. Then we tried to hire Mike Price who got fired before he could coach a game so we were the laughingstock of college football but for all of us who stuck it out and still rooted them on it makes this damn National Championship that much sweeter while Coach Fran is somewhere umemployed. lol
